You are invited to attend our first GENE Career Club seminar of fall 2022!
We are hosting “in-person” our former GENE graduate, Dr. Elena Repnikova on
Thursday, August 11th (12:00-1:00PM) in Reynolds 407.
Dr. Repnikova is an Associate Professor of Pathology and Pediatrics
at the University of Missouri Kansas City Medical School.
She is also the Director of the Genetics and Genomics Fellowship Program at Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Repnikova received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nuclear Physics from Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University in Russia and Ph.D. in Genetics from Texas A&M under the mentorship of Dr. Vlad Panin. She then completed Post-Doctoral ABMG fellowship trainings in Clinical Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and is certified by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics in the specialties of Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics.
Dr. Repnikova’s expertise includes interpretation of clinical laboratory genetics test results from constitutional and oncology chromosome analysis, FISH, microarray analysis, and from a variety of the molecular based assays including whole exome next-generation sequencing. She is actively involved in teaching pathology residents and laboratory genetics and genomics fellows as well as conducting research to improve understanding of genetic anomalies in hereditary
genetic disorders and cancer.
