When and how did you realize that you wanted to study Genetics & Genomics?
I was first introduced to Genetics & Genomics in my high school AP Biology course, and I was immediately drawn to the fast pace by which our knowledge of the field is expanding. In college, I fell in love with Genetics and Genomics research and couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else
Why did you choose the Genetics & Genomics Ph.D. program at A&M?
I chose the Genetics & Genomics Ph.D. program at A&M because I am in awe of the opportunities that come as a result of this being an interdisciplinary program. I wanted to come to A&M specifically because I admire the community and sense of pride associated with being an Aggie.
If you were free to choose anything, what research question/topic would you like to address for your graduate studies?
If I could choose anything, I think it would be interesting to study the role of genetics in drug metabolism and how this can improve the concept of personalized medicine.
