Biography:

Research Interests:

- Molecular quantitative genetics: QTL (linkage) mapping, selection mapping, and association (LD) mapping

- Breeding and genetics of maize (corn) to improve aflatoxin resistance, drought tolerance, grain yields, biomass yields, and perennial maize and sorghum

- Simulations of plant breeding and genetic phenomena to test for better QTL dissection and/ or better plant breeding methodologies

- Primary traits of interest include: stem sugar (in sorghum), aflatoxin resistance, drought tolerance, photoperiod sensitivity (flowering time), biomass yield, nutrient use efficiency and perennialism
