Biography:
Research Emphasis:
Dr. Gould's area of research is genetic engineering and biotechnology of crop plants and forest trees. She uses both model and non-model plant species of cotton, cereals, and pines in her research.
Her research includes the investigation of genetic mechanisms in the protection of plants from drought stress and insect predation and the study of the genetic mutations produced in cultured plant tissues. The role of plant hormones in regulating gene expression and plant development, along with the role of stress & environment in development are also included in her research.
